Meet Our Amazing Oral Surgeons Near Alexandria
Dr. Amir Naimi
Dr. Naimi loves coming into work each day because he gets to meet new people, provide with them the best surgical care possible, and inspire others to smile brighter!
Before joining our team, Dr. Naimi attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond for his undergraduate degree and his DDS. From there, he completed a four-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Tufts University in affiliation with the New England Medical Center in Boston. Today, he is a member of the world-renowned Omicron Kappa Upsilon and has undergone training in full arch rehabilitation, facial rejuvenation, anesthesia, and more.
Of course, Dr. Naimi’s passion for his craft extends beyond our office walls too. In fact, his humanitarian work has taken him to places like Jamaica, Honduras, and India! He also loves using his free time to be with his children, ski, hike, and do pretty much anything outdoors.
Dr. Pedram Yaghmai
Dr. Yaghmai’s love of working with his hands resulted in him exploring several medical professions, but dentistry was ultimately the perfect fit. All these years later, he couldn’t be happier that he gets to blend art and science while building one-on-one relationships with those in his treatment chair!
A Virginia native, Dr. Yaghmai earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1999 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from 2004 (both from Virginia Commonwealth University). The next step was to undergo a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Since obtaining his medical degree, he has completed additional training on everything from bone grafting and dental implants to TMJ surgery and sleep apnea treatments. Currently, he is an active member of the American Dental Association and several other professional organizations.
When he isn’t at the office, Dr. Yaghmai likes spending time with his family, watching and playing soccer, practicing yoga, playing piano, and meditating.
Dr. Amro Shihabi
A fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, we’re honored to have such an incredible oral surgeon on our team!
Dr. Shihabi’s journey to Northern Virginia Oral, Maxillofacial, and Implant Surgery began at the University of Pennsylvania, which is where he earned his DMD. After that, he obtained his medical degree from Louisiana State University, completed an internship in general dentistry, pursued postgraduate training in maxillofacial oncology and microvascular reconstruction, and trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The result of his dedication, extensive education, and advanced training, Dr. Shihabi worked as the Director of Training in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Section Chief of head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction. Furthermore, he was the vice president of the Patuxent Dental Society and the secretary and treasurer of the Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery! He also enjoys using his time outside the office to travel with family, lecture nationally and internationally, and go on mission trips to bring care to impoverished communities.
Dr. Hadi Ansari
It was the blend of science and art that drew Dr. Ansari to dentistry, but it’s the ability to improve people’s lives that’s largely fueled his passion throughout the years!
A little over a decade ago, he completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry before pursuing his graduate studies in neuroscience at the University of Calgary. From there, he earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of his class. The last step was to undergo a rigorous four-year residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery in South Florida at Broward Health Medical Center and Nova Southeastern University. Throughout his career, Dr. Ansari has completed advanced training in a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgery skills, such as surgical extraction of teeth, facial trauma surgery, in-office and hospital-based anesthesia, management of both benign and malignant oral pathology, and orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Ansari loves using his time outside the office to be with his wife, go on hikes, watch sports (especially soccer, football, and Formula One), and play racquetball with friends. Here’s something you might not know about him: he’s visited Italy and Costa Rica!
Hear From Other Alexandria Patients
I went in for a consultation for my wisdom teeth, and the whole staff was so sweet and comforting about the procedure. They gave me lots of information, and made me feel good about getting them removed. Raveen and Dr.Yaghmal worked with me, and they were both very kind. Definitely recommend going to the Alexandria location!!
